Saxons Football Fall to McNary Celtics 40-33

The Saxon football team has fallen in their final game of the season to the McNary Celtics by a score of 40-33. The Saxons fought hard throughout the entire game on both sides of the ball but it wasn’t enough to take down the 22 ranked Celtics.

The Saxons had many solid contributors offensively in Treyden Harris ‘19 and Diego Fuimaono ‘19 who combined for five receptions for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah Enomoto-Haole ‘19 was 11-24 in the air for 136 passing yards. Along with the offensive standouts, safety Gabe Johnson ‘21 had a 89 yards interception returned for a touchdown.

Sadly after this loss, the Saxons did not qualify for playoff contention with finishing the season ranked 40 in the state.

The victors of the game and Mountain Valley Conference Champion McNary Celtics play in the first round of the OSAA State Football Playoffs this next Friday, Nov. 2 at 7pm against the 11 ranked Lakeridge Pacers.
