“SOS” by SZA: The Top 10 Best Tracks

In December 2022, artist SZA finally released her highly anticipated sophomore album, “SOS”. Fans had been waiting for over 5 years for a new album from the artist, and the majority of them were thrilled at its arrival. Currently, “SOS” has been atop the Billboard 200 chart for 4 consecutive weeks since its debut on the chart. The album consists of 23 tracks and no matter what media platform I use, I always hear at least 3 of her new songs . That is why I have decided to conduct an album review, in which I will provide not only my thoughts but a ranking of the top 10 songs from best to worst.

  1. Low

This song is the absolute best on this album without a doubt. Its relatable lyrics along with its catchy chorus make it the top dog on this album. All the other tracks on the album should be taking notes.

  1. Kill Bill

If this song wasn’t so disgustingly overplayed, it might be number 1. I mean, it is relatable because at some point everyone has missed their ex, but I don’t miss my ex that much to listen to this song like everyone else is.

  1. I Hate U

I love this song because of how straightforward it is. It’s not overplayed, cringy, or oddly long or short, which makes it top tier. This is the song that plays in the back of my head when I have a made-up argument in the shower.

  1. Seek & Destroy

Anyone who doesn’t like this song needs to be sought out and destroyed. While the verses are lackluster, the chorus saves it and propels it to great heights. If I’m being all too honest, I can relate to this song a bit too much.

  1. Shirt

This song honestly isn’t that amazing, but at the same time there is nothing wrong with it (which can’t be said about a lot of other songs on the album). I can listen to this song anytime of the day and I would feel satisfied with my choice

  1. Special

The verses on this song are NOT special. They honestly are kind of cringy and make me want to lose my hearing. However, the chorus is amazing. I strongly believe this chorus has partially cured my soul.

  1. Conceited

This song is decent at best. It isn’t all about being intimate, aggressively sad, or boring. It simply just exists. However, I do believe that it is very positive and motivational. What it lacks in lyrical content, is made up by the feel-good aura of the song.

  1. F2F

Listening to this makes me think of how well it would fit in a 2015 Netflix rom-com. It has this pop-punk sound that makes it perfect for a random awkward makeout scene. It makes me slightly cringe everytime I listen to it.

  1. Forgiveless (feat. Ol’ Dirty Bastard)

Overall, it’s a really funky song. I don’t even know if it leans in a good or bad direction. The feature on this song heavily carries it and has given the world a refresher on what the definition of funky truly is.

     10.  Blind

This song is practically the new anthem for toxic relationships and ignoring all of the horrible things going on within them. While it’s good, TikTok has ruined another quality song. This is a no green flag zone, I repeat this is a no green flag zone.
