On October 25, South Salem High School will host Sandy High School on home court at 7 p.m. The Saxons head into the game with a record of 19-8 while also holding the eighth overall spot in the OSAA 6A rankings. They come into the game off a 0-3 loss against Sprague High School. The Pioneers hold a record of 12-10, which earned them the 25 overall spot in the 6A ranking. This ranks them 17 spots lower than the Saxons. However, they head into the game from a previous victory, that being 3-0 over Reynolds High School. The outcome of this game will determine which team will be able to move on and play in the second round. When all first-round games are over, the second-round games will be held on October 28.
