The South Salem girls volleyball team had a successful week as they won two games in consecutive nights. These wins came from games where the Saxons beat the North Salem Vikings and the West Salem Titans. Both games were similar as South won each game 3-0. As a result, the Saxons are now ranked ninth in the OSAA 6A rankings.
One of South’s team captains, Malena Mathis (24′), came up big in both games for the Saxons. To top off the week for her, she was awarded Salem Sports Breakfast Club Athlete of the Week.
South’s next game is at home against the Sprague Olympians on Tuesday, October 3 at 6:30 p.m. “Gameday” shirts will be handed out to the first 150 people who show up to the game.
