After Wednesday’s playoff game, the South Salem girls basketball program advanced to the second round, preparing to face off against one of their in-conference rivals, West Salem, for the third time this season. The 2 seed Saxons will host the 13 seed Titans in this matchup. They tip off on Saturday, March 4 at 6 p.m.
This playoff matchup will be one to watch; The atmosphere is going to be tense and competitive on the court and in the stands during this in conference playoff matchup.
West has been catching up to South’s point production all season, so this is anyone’s game. In the previous two regular season matchups featuring these teams, South has won. In the week 13 matchup, the Saxons beat the Titans 72-40, and in the week 19 matchup the score deficit shrunk to just 14 points [75-61], still resulting in a Saxon win.
Before this season, The Titans and Saxons have faced off twice.
