Saxon Swim Heads Off to State

Saxon swim will now represent South Salem High School at state after a win at their CVC Districts Championships meet.

South’s swim team swam in a large championships meet where they faced off with many other schools in the Salem Keizer district. Both the South boys and girls teams took home first place spots. The boys finished with 466.5 points, and the girls with 543 points. Because of their win, South is now moving onward to a state meet. There are 17 swimmers who qualified to move forward to the state meet from an array of different events. These athletes are excited to get the opportunity to compete and represent their school.

There are two meets possible to swim in for state. The first being today, February 17, and the second on February 18. If the swimmers do well at the first meet, they are able to compete at the second. These state meets are the official finality of the swimming season, which won’t start up again until winter of the 2023-2024 school year. The swimmers involved are ready to begin and are hoping for more great seasons to come.
