Pushing Through: Saxons V.S. Rams

On September 10, 2026, the South Salem Saxons played against the Central Catholic Rams on Bennett Field at 7 p.m.. The Rams won with a score of 5-0. 

The first half put the Saxons back 0-2. The Rams managed to score two goals, almost two minutes apart. The second was scored by a header at four minutes. Following the goal scored with six minutes left. The Saxons showed frustration after the back to back goals. Londynn Stewart ‘28, the goalkeeper, was notably stressed and took a step to the side. Ariana Guzman ‘27 and Emma Silva ‘27 motivated Stewart. Stewart continued to push, stopping the next few attempts. 

Notable key players are Alani Hernandez Luis ‘30, Talia Jones ‘27 and Jayda Sweet ‘28. All three of them kept pushing through. They sprinted towards the ball, stayed calm and continued to do their best. 

The second half ruined any chance for the Saxons. The Rams scored three goals and continued to push the defense. 

The loss leaves the Saxons with a 0-4 record so far this season. Their next game is September 17, 2026, against the Royal Scots on Bennett Field at 7 p.m..
