The South Salem Saxons faced the West Salem Titans at 7 p.m. on Bennett Field. This game featured a strong midfield, with the Saxons winning 2-1.
The first half featured extensive play in the midfield with both teams working to establish control of the game. Both sides worked on maintaining their defensive shape and creating an opportunity to advance the ball into the attacking third. The Saxons were able to keep the ball on the opposing side. Midway into the first half, Jade Rodriguez-Rodriguez ’27 scored the first goal against the Titans.
The second half opened with intensive offensive play from both teams. Five minutes after the kickoff, the Titans scored. Just a few minutes after their goal, Reese Hayward ’27 scored, who was fed the ball by Talia Jones ’27.
This puts the Saxons at 3-5 overall leading into their next away game against the Sprague Olys on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
